Wedding Day Photo Prep Checklist

Before the Big Day: What to Gather

Set these items aside in one spot (like a keepsake box or tote bag) so I can grab them when I arrive and start styling right away:

For Flat Lay Photos:

  • Invitation suite (2 full sets if you can!)

  • Rings (all of them—engagement + both wedding bands)

  • Vow books

  • Any meaningful extras: jewelry, heirlooms, perfume, a special tie, etc.

  • Loose florals (ask your florist for a few extra stems if possible!)

Extras That Photograph Beautifully:

  • A clean hanger for your outfits

  • Your shoes (bonus if they’re cool or unique!)

  • Accessories (jewelry, cufflinks, watch, hairpiece)

  • Any gifts or letters you’re exchanging

🕰 Sample Photo Timeline (Getting Ready – Portraits)

This is a general guide—I'll always tailor it to your unique day and vibe, but it helps to see the big picture:

Prep Time (1–2 hours before ceremony):

  • Getting ready candids (hair, makeup, chill moments)

  • Details + flat lays

  • Outfit & accessory photos

  • First look (if you're doing one)

  • Couple portraits

  • Wedding party photos

After the Ceremony:

  • Family photos (we’ll plan a list ahead of time!)

  • Just married portraits (golden hour is chef’s kiss)

  • Reception details, candid laughs, first dances, and all the good stuff

💡 Pro Tips for Smoother Photo Vibes

  • Have your details in one place when I arrive = stress-free start

  • Plan wiggle room in your timeline (even 15 mins helps!)

  • Think about lighting in your getting ready space—natural light = magic

  • Assign a friend or planner to help wrangle family for formal photos

  • Embrace the imperfect! Some of the best moments are unplanned

📸 Need help building your timeline? I got you—this is one of my favorite things to do with couples. Let’s talk through it together.
